The curriculum itself is broken down into three age groups:
- Basic (ages 6-9)
- Intermediate (Ages 10-12)
- Advanced (Ages 13-17)
It covers topics ranging from the components of fire and the practical use of fire, to understanding the fire service and understanding the consequences of one’s actions. It also includes a pre- and post-test for each group, all necessary forms, an extensive resource list, as well as helpful background information on concepts such as the stages of child development.
Also included with the curriculum is a set of instructional training DVDs, which takes one step by step through the process of establishing a JFS Intervention Program, as well as how to effectively use the curriculum for various age ranges of children.
